About Our School

Appleton Primary School has 348 pupils on roll and is situated in the West of Hull with the main electoral ward being Bricknell. We take children from 3-11 and have fairly recently had a new Foundation Unit built which houses 50 F2 (Reception) and 60 F1 (Nursery) children.

The admission number for each year group is 50 . The school has an early admissions policy which takes pupils in the September of the year of their fifth birthday. Applications are dealt with by the Local Authority. More information about our school’s admission arrangements can be found on the Local Authority website or by telephoning 300300

We work closely with parents and they are invited into school on a regular basis. New parents and children are invited to attend meetings and drop in sessions, usually in the term before they start school.

We provide a breakfast club every morning from 8 am and various after school clubs run throughout the year. We employ sports coaches to ensure that children have access to a variety of sports and we also provide opportunities for children to take part in dancing, cooking, drama and singing after school.

The school joined the Sirius Academy Multi Academy Trust on 1st May 2017 [Now known as The Constellation Trust].

Our last OFSTED inspection was in November 2016 and the school was judged to be good overall.
